Millwright Apprenticeship 

Our trade involves installing, repairing and rebuilding industrial equipment for the industry in the state of WV.  The skills needed to perform our work are:  math, group interaction, mechanical aptitude, and be physically fit.  This is construction work.  You will work on new and used equipment in many different locations and stages of completion.  If you enjoy hard work in a challenging environment to build equipment and to see it work, this might be for you.

The recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination because of age, race, color, religion, nation origin, or sex.

This apprenticeship is registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.  We have a 5 year program consisting of both classroom and on the job training.  Classroom time is a minimum of One Hundred and Fifty Four (154) hours per year.  We go to school a week at a time.  On the Job training is Two Thousand (2000) hours per year.  All training is provided by the Millwright Local at no cost to the members in our training center in Parkersburg, WV.  There are very few schools in the country that teach what we do and if you are accepted, your education is free!

Minimum requirements for application

 Age and Education:              Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
                                                 to apply.

Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED to apply. 

Terms of Residence:            Applicants must reside in the state of West
                                                Virginia, in the counties of the Local's
                                                 jurisdiction.

Be physically able to perform the duties of the craft, Pass a physical exam and a drug test.
